Nom (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (“App”).

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When you sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we collect:

  • Name (from your Apple/Google account)
  • Email address (from your Apple/Google account)
  • User ID (unique identifier from authentication provider)

2.2 Profile information

To provide personalized meal plans, we collect:

  • Gender
  • Birth date (to calculate age)
  • Height and weight
  • Unit system preference (metric/imperial)
  • Fitness goals (build muscle, weight loss, improve performance)
  • Training schedule (days and times you work out)
  • Nutrition preferences (calories, protein%, fat%, carbs%)

2.3 App usage data

We store locally on your device:

  • Meal plans you create
  • Completed meals
  • Shopping lists
  • Dietary preferences and allergens
  • Saved/bookmarked meals

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide personalized meal plans based on your goals and preferences
  • Calculate your daily calorie and macro recommendations
  • Generate shopping lists for your meal plans
  • Track your meal completion and progress
  • Improve our services and user experience
  • Communicate with you about your account or our services

4. Data storage and security

Your profile data (gender, age, height, weight, goals, training schedule, nutrition preferences) is stored securely on Supabase servers, a third-party database service. Your meal plans and app usage data are stored locally on your device.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Third-party services

5.1 Supabase

We use Supabase to store your profile data and nutrition preferences. Supabase’s privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy. We only share the data necessary to provide our services.

5.2 Contentful

We use Contentful to deliver meal content (recipes, ingredients, images). Contentful does not collect your personal information — they only provide content delivery services.

5.3 Apple and Google

When you sign in with Apple or Google, your authentication is handled by these providers according to their privacy policies. We only receive the information you choose to share through their authentication systems.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share your data:

  • With Supabase, our database provider, to store and process your profile data
  • When required by law or to protect our rights
  • With your explicit consent

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct: Update or correct your personal information
  • Opt-out: Stop using the App and delete your account

To exercise these rights, contact us by email or use the “Delete account” feature in the App’s Account settings.

8. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

9. Children’s privacy

Nom is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

10. International data transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
